On The Cruise
Once we are on board the fun and relaxation begins. Since we are traveling with a large group (32 people) we will be doing our best to ensure we get to spend time with each and everyone of you. We encourage everyone to go out on their own and enjoy everything the cruise has to offer. Here are some things that might help us stay connected on the VERY LARGE Carnival Mardi Gras.
Rooms – I have created a page on this site with everyones room numbers. You can access it here. If you have the internet package during the cruise save this site as you will be able to access the room numbers from your phone. If not print a copy of the room numbers to take with you.
Texting/Chat – Both Kimberly and I will have the internet package so we will be able to be communicate. If you have the internet package you can communicate with us (Iphone to Iphone) via messenger or if you have an android you can communicate with us through either Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp. For those of you that do not have the internet package there is a feature in the Carnival Hub App that allows you to chat with other memebers of your traveling party. This feature has a one time (covers the whole cruise) cost of $5.00. Both Kimberly and I will be available on the Carnival Chat as well.
Dinner/Dining – This will be one of the most challenging part of our cruise. Since we are a party of 32 people scattered throughout the ship we will do our best to coordinate with everyone on our dining plans. Feel free to dine at your leisure and and the restaurant of your choice. We will try our best to ensure we get to dine with anyone that wants to dine with us. We typically do not dine in the MDR (Main Dining Room) every night. Sometimes will we grab something at the buffet, do room service, or grab a pizza. It is a safe bet that we will be dining in the main dining room on the 2nd Elegant night as that is Lobster night! Please coordinate with Kimberly and I on if you would like to join us.
Private Party– This is just a reminder on the private party that everyone in our traveling group is welcome to attend. I hope everyone can join us on the first sea day (March 1st) at 2:30pm in the Piano Bar. We will have snacks and FREE drinks (this should get everyone there). We will be celebrating multiple Birthdays during this event including Kimberlys Milestone Birthday! More information on this is located on the front (Home) page of this website.
Where To Find Us On Sea Days – On sea days (days we are not in port) we are usually scattered across the ship. Kimberly likes to layout on the deck (I join her sometimes) and I usually am roaming around the ship or sitting on the balcony. Kimberly and I are on an Ultra Cruise (a casino promotion) so it is a sure bet that we will be found in the casino at 11pm and midnight every night (as there are drawings where we can win money).
Shows- Carnival Mardi Gras has several great shows throughout our cruise. We recommend Celestial Strings, and the Love & Marriage show. Getting a seat at the shows (especially the ones on the Center Stage) require getting there 30-45 minutes early. We will try to coordinate with everyone on what shows we will be attending.
Port Days– We have 4 ports of call scheduled during our cruise. Grand Turk, Amber Cove, Nassau, and Celebration Key. We encourage everyone to do an excursion at any of these ports and we will keep everyone posted on our plans. Here is what we have planned so far:
Grand Turk – We do not (as of yet) have any excursions or plans for this port. We have done various excursions at this port in the past. This port has shopping, beach areas, and a massive pool at the Margaritaville. It (the pool) usually gets crowded pretty quickly.
Amber Cove – Again we have no excursions (as of yet) planned for this port. It has shopping, restaurants, and a pool area as well. We have done several excursions in the past here as, and recommend the Damajagua Triple Adventure (Natural Water Slides, Zip Lining, and Off Road Buggies).
Nassua – We have been to this port many times. They have just renovated the cruise port which is really nice. Typically on Nassua days we will get off the ship and head to Senior Frogs (a very short walk just outside the cruise port) for some Nacho’s and Margarita’s. Everyone is welcome to join us at Senior Frogs. After that we might walk to a beach just down the road from Senior Frogs. If you have not been to Atlantis Resort & Casino it is definitly worth the cab ride. They also have a waterpark at Atlantis that we have been to and highly recommend.
Celebration Key – Celebration Key is Carnival’s newest private island. We have only been there one time (last August) right after it opened. You will use your sign and sail card for any drink purchases. Additionally they have various food options throughout the island. Everyone gets (1) free lunch item and then you can purchase additional food. We have rented a Over The Lagoon Super Villa at Calypso Lagoon. While only (12) of us can walk through to the Cabana it is on a point and everyone can swim up and hang out. There are many free lagoon chairs close to our cabana so you can leave your items there and then swim up to the Cabana. There is also a swim up bar located just across from the cabana. We will coordinate with everyone on the ship with further details.
